ArtCenter College of Design | Pasadena, California | Learn to Create. Influence Change.

Why Give?

Art Center students are imagining new, life-saving interactive devices; advancing prosthetics for high performance athletics; producing award-winning films; designing vehicles that will revolutionize transportation; tackling clean water issues.

Just a few ways gifts to Art Center help make a better world.

“How does giving to Art Center empower students? I’m a great example. The donor-created scholarships I received did more than put a great design education within my reach. They also motivated me to strive for the highest possible standard in my work.”
- Aldis Ozolins, Graphic Design

“A gift to Art Center is an investment in pushing the field of design forward. By touching Art Center, you’re impacting the world in a positive way.”
- Lynda Weinman and Bruce Heavin (Illustration ’93), owners of lynda.com

Giving to Art Center is always about students.

Annual Gifts are essential to providing our students and faculty with the daily resources needed for learning. In order to keep abreast of developments in art and design education, Art Center needs to be able to respond quickly and effectively to new opportunities as they arise. Unrestricted annual gifts provide the College with the flexibility to immediately address our areas of greatest need, which can touch every aspect of the student experience, from campus life to new curricula to technology to facilities.

Scholarships help make an Art Center education possible for deserving young designers and artists who might not otherwise be able to afford it. They also bridge the gap at a time when commercial loans and government grants, and even work-study programs, are harder to come by. Art Center has always drawn its strength from the quality and diversity of its students. Scholarship support helps ensure that more of the very best students can have access to an Art Center education, regardless of personal financial circumstances. Alumni, families and friends who invest in scholarship support transform the educational experience for our students.

Capital gifts support the physical spaces and tools that enable exceptional learning, from demonstration shops to classrooms equipped with the latest technology. Priorities include the expansion of the South Campus property and the renovation of the Hillside Campus, which will significantly expand Art Center’s educational reach and resources and invigorate art and design education.

Endowment gifts guarantee that financial support will remain readily available for the future needs of Art Center and its students. A strong endowment reduces our reliance on tuition revenue and fundraising to support operational needs. A named endowed fund may be established at Art Center with a minimum gift of $50,000.
