Foundation, Government and Nonprofit Organizations

The Foundation and Government Relations team serves as a catalyst for developing and strengthening relationships between the ArtCenter community and grantmaking organizations.

ArtCenter has strong relationships with foundation and government grantmakers throughout the grantmaking sector, including local, regional, and national foundations; public agencies; and nonprofit partners. Evidence of this can be found throughout our campuses in named spaces (the Ahmanson Auditorium, The Fletcher Jones Foundation classrooms, the Hutto-Patterson Exhibition Hall, and many others), and in the ongoing renovation activities as we expand and enhance our existing educational facilities.

In addition, grants secured help to support faculty and students by funding special projects, courses and curricular development, and are particularly vital for the health of our outreach, community engagement, and vision for access, affordability and inclusion, which enhances our public programming for teens and educators through ArtCenter Extension (ACX), as well as broadens our outreach education in partnership with local K12 schools.

Our Work Includes

  • Connecting philanthropic foundations, government agencies, or other nonprofit organizations with ArtCenter faculty and programs of interest
  • Facilitating introductions to ArtCenter leaders and experts
  • Organizing, planning, and hosting visits to campus
  • Developing letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and gift/grant agreements
  • Convening campus community conversations around themes of interest to funders
  • Advising on strategies for maximizing collaborations with ArtCenter
  • Working with funders to ensure that their grant objectives are met
  • Facilitating reporting on gifts and grants
  • Facilitating public recognition for gift/grant support
