Legendary Disney/Pixar Animator

ArtCenter Illustration alumnus Floyd Norman is the first black animator ever to be hired by Disney, back in the mid-1950s. At the age of 81, his cartooning career spans 60 years... and counting. And he’s got a lifetime of stories that he’ll be sharing.

Floyd has worked on Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins, Jungle Book, 101 Dalmations, Sesame Street, Scooby-Doo, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Robot Chicken, and many other important animated films.

Floyd is also currently featured in the just-released documentary, Floyd Norman: An Animated Life.

Offered in conjunction with Michael Dooley's Humanities and Sciences course, "Design History of Comics and Animation," this event is free and open to the public.
