Kristina Bell

Kristina Bell

Kristina Bell is a seasoned user experience designer whose career has spanned a twenty-five-year period of creating thoughtful, engaging, and award-winning work across print, web, and branding. Her portfolio includes an impressive range of clients, including The New Yorker, The Poetry Foundation, NBC, and CBS. Kristina holds an undergraduate degree from ArtCenter College of Design and a master’s in graphic design from North Carolina State University. Beyond teaching at Art Center, she has also taught at the University of Hawai‘i and served as a tenure-track assistant professor at San José State University, where she taught typography and graphic design.

Kevin Bethune

Kevin Bethune

Kevin serves as the Founder & Chief Creative Officer of dreams • design + life, a think tank that delivers design & innovation services using an empathic, holistic approach. His background spans engineering, business and design in equal proportion over 25+ years of in-depth product experiences at enterprises including Westinghouse Nuclear, Nike and BCG, positioning him to help brands deliver meaningful innovations to enrich people’s lives. His first book, Reimagining Design: Unlocking Strategic Innovation (The MIT Press) released with notable acclaim under the Simplicity: Design, Business, Technology, Life Series in March 2022. Kevin's second book, Nonlinear: Navigating Design with Curiosity and Conviction (The MIT Press), released on February 4, 2025. Kevin also serves as a Board Trustee for ArtCenter College of Design.

Mark Fennimore

Mark Fennimore

American Express, United Technologies, Ford, Liberty Mutual, and Merck have been major clients. Ogilvy, Wells, and DDB are the global advertising agencies at which I have art and creative directed. 30 years on Mad Ave and it was back to Pasadena to chase the sun and to pursue a writing career. I have finished novel one, soon to be published, and early drafts of two and three. I have three original screenplays and one adapted from Faulkner’s The Bear. I live to create. I create to live. ACCD 101.

Carla Figueroa

Carla Figueroa

Carla earned her BFA from ArtCenter College of Design in 1995. She began her career as an associate designer at the college before transitioning to work with various clients, focusing mainly on non-profit organizations. Carla also taught advanced typography at ArtCenter and recently returned after a 13-year hiatus. An engaged member of the ArtCenter Alumni Network and FullCircle, she is also a proud mother to three sons.

Bruce Heavin

Bruce Heavin

Bruce Heavin is an illustrator, strategist, and entrepreneur, plays with architecture, instructor & co-founder of lynda.com online learning (now LinkedIn Learning). Guest curator for UCSB Arts & Lectures community programs. Graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1993 in Illustration. Active member of the Art Center College of Design board of trustees and chair of the Academic Affairs committee.

Dan Klitsner

Dan Klitsner

Dan is the founder and head of Creative for the industrial design and invention studio KID Group in San Francisco. Since 1990, KID has licensed hundreds of their inventions to the toy industry, best known for the classic game Bop It and several other #1 toys. Besides toys, Dan has designed award-winning bottles such as the Woodford Reserve and the iconic Clorox bottle, and has taught concept ideation at SF State, CCA, and Academy of Art. He and his wife Alicia currently co-chair the Bop It for Good initiative to support organizations such as LightHouse for the Blind that benefit from Bop It‘s unique accessibility.

Joy Ou

Joy Ou

As Managing Partner of Group I, Joy Ou leads the firm’s creative vision and real estate strategy—shaping places that elevate both design and community. With a foundation in environmental design, she brings a distinct sensibility to each project, fusing architectural clarity with social intent. Her portfolio spans award-winning developments that resonate with design advocates, cultural leaders, and capital partners alike.

Joy’s civic work mirrors her design ethos: thoughtful, inclusive, and globally engaged. She serves on the transitional task force guiding the Global Heritage Fund to the World Monuments Fund and is a board member of the SF Museum of Craft and Design, Wildflowers Institute, and Open Taichi Foundation. She also supports Chinatown Community Development Center, Tenderloin youth programs, and arts organizations across the Bay Area. In Taiwan, she is Executive Director of the Ou Jong Fa Foundation and formerly served on the boards of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and the San Francisco Art Institute. In 2020, she launched the 10129 Foundation to advance design and cultural equity.

Joy holds a B.S. in Environmental Design from ArtCenter College of Design. She drives electric and lives in a solar-powered home—quietly aligning lifestyle with values.

Julian Ryder, FullCircle Chair

Julian Ryder, FullCircle Chair

Julian is the Founder and Chief Creative Officer of The Right Brain Project, a firm dedicated to helping leaders unlock the creative potential that exists within their organizations. For over 35 years, he has been an entrepreneur and creative leader in business and education. He is a former chair of ArtCenter’s advertising department. His latest book is Thriving on Creativity: A Leader’s Guide to Building a Creative Future.

Frank Saucedo

Frank Saucedo

Frank is the Chief Design Officer of Meyers Manx, LLC where he's working to bring the Manx 2.0 Electric Vehicle, a modern incarnation of the iconic dune buggy, to production. Prior to joining Manx, he spent 35 years at General Motors as head of their Advanced Design Studio in California where he successfully balanced the challenge to deliver commercially viable vehicle designs with the constant demand for innovative solutions. His ability to foster a wildly innovative environment for his team resulted in his studio delivering award winning concepts like the Cadillac I-Space, Personal Space, and Social Space, all of which will help define Cadillac's future. Frank is passionate about sharing his expertise and experiences and regularly teaches at the collegiate level and mentors high school students.

He's honored to be recognized as a subject matter expert, thought leader, and valuable contributor to the progression of automotive design. He takes great pride in establishing a rock-solid working culture and building strong design, engineering, and visualization teams at Manx.

Katie Sprague, FullCircle Vice Chair

Katie Sprague, FullCircle Vice Chair

For 30 years, Katie was the global leader of CallisonRTKL's Environments Studio, a group that specializes in the creation of experience environments. As a brand strategist, she brought a human-centric focus to a wide variety of international architectural projects. Now, as a happily retired person, she loves doing all the things she never had time to do while working, including giving back to ArtCenter!

Lan Yu

Lan Yu

Lan is the Associate Chair of the Graduate Industrial Design program at ArtCenter College of Design. Previously, she served as the program’s Director (2016–2019) and collaborated with ArtCenter to produce the Create Change design forums in China. She was the design lead and brand manager at Tsinghua Tongfang for nearly a decade, helping launch tech startups. As a consultant, she has worked with companies such as Xiaomi, Google, and the Bank of China. Lan also advises Sky Limit Entertainment Group and Smartmi Tech. She holds a Master of Industrial Design from ArtCenter and a Bachelor of Industrial Design from the Beijing Institute of Technology.

Scott Yu

Scott Yu

Scott is the Chief Creative Officer at Vode. Scott is a passionate advocate for innovation and sustainability, with over 40 years of experience in design and product strategy across diverse industries. His latest company has achieved a 73.7% reduction in energy consumption and a 21% reduction in carbon footprint. Besides FullCircle, Scott actively serves on the board of IES SF.
