The Ian Cameron Design Scholarship

Honor a Legacy. Shape the Future of Automotive Design

ArtCenter College of Design is proud to announce the Ian Cameron Design Scholarship, a new endowment launched with a $1 million founding gift from philanthropist and car collector John Aycoth.

This meaningful scholarship pays tribute to Aycoth’s close friend, the late British automotive designer Ian Cameron, best known for his visionary work on the Rolls-Royce Phantom VII and for helping to redefine modern luxury car design.

Although Ian was not an ArtCenter alumnus, Aycoth was inspired to connect his legacy to ArtCenter through Cameron’s longtime creative partnership with Marek Djordjevic, Chair of the College’s Transportation Design program. Cameron and Djordjevic collaborated on several iconic vehicles that shaped the future of the Rolls-Royce brand.

Aycoth’s vision is to grow the Ian Cameron Design Scholarship to $5 million or more with support from others like you who value the tradition, innovation and elegance that defined Cameron’s work. His legacy will live on at ArtCenter by empowering generations of aspiring Transportation Design students to follow in his footsteps.

Join us in honoring Ian’s legacy and investing in the future of transportation design.

Make a gift today.

Ian Cameron

From working with Ian, I saw how deeply he believed in the power and purpose of good design. He resisted trends in favor of enduring elegance and meaningful detail. This scholarship allows his creative philosophy to take root in our students, the next generation who will go on to shape the future of car design.

The Ian Cameron Design Scholarship will provide meaningful tuition support to emerging Transportation Design students at ArtCenter who demonstrate the talent and innovative spirit that defined Cameron’s career. In addition to expanding access to the world’s leading Transportation Design program, the scholarship reinforces the program’s longstanding reputation of producing top designers.
