Join Steven Brower – graphic designer and author of the brand new Crime Comics Confidential book – as he blows the lid off those glorious, notorious comic books of the 1950s. Experience action-packed 4-color pulp fiction tales, fully loaded with gangsters, gats, gams, and ill-gotten gains and masterfully illustrated by Golden Age comics greats like Charles Biro, John Buscema, Gene Colan, Jack Cole, Reed Crandall, Bernie Krigstein, Mort Meskin, Bob Powell, and Alex Toth.

Steven Brower is an award winning graphic designer and writer whose work appears regularly in international and national design annuals and books on design. He has been an art director at the New York Times and The Nation, and his work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute. His books include Comics Ad Men, The Mighty Elvis: A Graphic Biography, Satchmo: The Wonderful Art and World of Louis Armstrong, From Shadow to Light: The Life and Art of Mort Meskin, and Breathless Homicidal Slime Mutants: The Art of the Paperback. He is the director of the Get Your Masters with the Masters MFA program at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
