Sneakers and Cream is a community engagement activity and recruiting platform for talented, underserved students in the PUSD. This one-day event will take place at the ArtCenter College of Design Alumni Center.
ArtCenter College of Design will host students from five Pasadena High Schools for “Sneakers and Cream,” a shoe design contest during which students will apply original artwork to create custom-designed sneakers. This art and design contest is being held in celebration of Black History Month.
Pasadena City Councilman Tyron Hampton, who is known for wearing sneakers with his suits, will serve as one of the design contest judges.
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners. Prizes consist of a scholarship to attend a future ACX class and a pair of brand Jordan sneakers.
Sneakers and Cream is brought to you by the Center for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Admissions, Alumni Office, ACX Teens and DDI - Designing Dreams Initiative.
