Launched in collaboration with Raymond Neutra and the Neutra Institute, students explore famed architect Richard Neutra’s design principles and philosophy of “Survival Through Design” to their sci-fi, outer space architecture projects.
Alumni are invited to a symposium and presentation of ArtCenter student work from the summer class, Outer Space Architecture: Survival Beyond Tomorrow.
The event will feature a talk by Raymond Neutra about his father’s work and its application to this project followed by a presentation of the class projects from instructor Juan Gutierrez (BS 20) and his students. An alumni and project student mixer will follow the symposium.
Tickets are $15 per person.
Proceeds will benefit the Entertainment Design department’s general fund, used to support students.
The gallery will be open from 2-5 p.m., and ArtCenter faculty and students will be on hand to discuss their work informally.
Tickets are free for the Sunday event.
This event is a collaboration between ArtCenter’s Entertainment Design, Alumni Office and the Neutra Institute.
