Works by Hiroshi Sugimoto (BFA 74 Photography) blur the line between reality and fantasy, truth and fiction, life and death. The internationally renowned, multi-disciplinary artist has created a body of work spanning photography, sculpture, installation and architecture.
Sugimoto's images harness the power of visual delight to question conventions. From his diorama displays challenging the concept that a camera never lies, to his Lightning Fields series that abandoned the camera entirely, his artworks have been exhibited around the world, from the Guggenheim to the Smithsonian—and, soon, ArtCenter.
