Jordan Wolfson (b. 1980) is known for his thought-provoking and unsettling works across various media. While he began as a video artist, his recent practice spans animatronics, robotics, virtual reality, holography, digital animation, and innovative wall-based sculptures. Filtering the languages of online and broadcast media through digital and mechanical technologies, he crafts enigmatic narratives that explore uncomfortable social and existential topics. Contrasting physical, virtual, and imaginary realms, he examines the projection of internal impulses onto constructed selves and scenarios. As part of a generation that redefined artistic possibilities through emerging digital media, he uses technology to probe difficult, often controversial themes underlying American culture and contemporary society, offering a raw and immersive exploration of human vulnerabilities.
Wolfson lives and works in Los Angeles. He earned a BFA in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2003 and received the Frieze Foundation’s Cartier Award in 2009. Major exhibitions include Ecce Homo/le Poseur (S.M.A.K., 2013), MANIC/LOVE/TRUTH/LOVE (Stedelijk Museum, 2016), Jordan Wolfson (Kunsthaus Bregenz, 2022), and Body Sculpture (National Gallery of Australia Canberra, 2023).

ArtCenter's Graduate Art program is based on intensive studio practice and rigorous academic coursework. The program is distinguished by its low faculty-to-student ratio that provides students with the attention and feedback they need to refine and achieve their artistic goals. Faculty and students are artists working in all genres—film, video, photography, painting, sculpture, performance and installation. A significant number of alumni have achieved national and international acclaim and often return to share their insights and expertise as visiting faculty and guest lecturers.
