Public health officials are making progress in better understanding the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), including how individuals are coming into contact with the virus and/or how people are contracting the covid-19 illness.
The virus appears to be spread via close person-to-person contact and through respiratory droplets from a cough or sneeze. The sicker someone is the more contagious they are, and the people most at risk are caregivers and family members of those that are infected.
For these reasons, public health officials continue to recommend individuals take daily preventative actions to protect their health and those around them.
We would also like to remind you to get a flu vaccination since we are still in the midst of cold and flu season. And, since covid-19 is a respiratory illness, it is a good reminder to maintain a general sense of health and wellness by eating healthy, getting enough sleep, and avoiding tobacco and smoking products.
