Biography

Lisa M. Sanchez began her human resources career in 1995. As an HR practitioner, with nonprofit, public and private sector experience, she has executive leadership, knowledge and expertise in benefits, compensation, classifications, recruitment, employee and labor relations, strategic planning, training and development and workers' compensation.

Currently, she is the vice president for Human Resources at ArtCenter College of Design. She leads a staff in providing full-service HR programs in employee relations, benefits, compensation, classifications, diversity and inclusion, recruitment, workers' compensation, environmental health and safety, performance management, training and development, budget and policy administration, and compliance with labor and employment laws. Prior to this appointment, she was the associate vice president for Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion at California State University, Fullerton. She was also the assistant vice president for Human Resources at California State University, Los Angeles from August 2003 to January 2014.

Previously, Sanchez held HR management positions with South Central Los Angeles Regional Center, Radisson Wilshire Plaza Hotel, Wilshire Grand Hotel and Merv Griffin's Beverly Hilton Hotel, and was adjunct faculty for the University of Phoenix, where she taught HR courses.

Sanchez holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from California State University, Northridge and a master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. She holds two HR certifications: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Society for Human Resource Management - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
