Biography

Julian Scaff is an associate professor of Interaction Design at ArtCenter College of Design. Scaff's areas of expertise include interaction design, design research, HCI and futurecasting. Scaff also runs a one-person design consultancy with a client list that includes Hitachi, Fidelity, Walmart, and Spatial Labs. During the course of his career, Scaff has worked for NASA/JPL, Idealab, and Siegel+Gale, and has taught at several universities in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Scaff is particularly interested in the interaction design of mobility and aerospace systems, the convergence of XR and IoT, and design for social/environmental impact. In 2015, Scaff delivered a talk titled Designing Change for Good at TEDx Crenshaw in Los Angeles.
