Biography

Justine Limpus Parish has worked extensively in the Los Angeles and San Francisco fashion industries as a fashion illustrator, designer, educator, art director and published author. As an associate professor and the director of the Sewing Lab at ArtCenter College of Design, she teaches in the Product Design and Entertainment Design departments. She also teaches workshops for Disney Consumer Products and other industry studios. She created the fashion department at the Academy of Art University and served as art director for Liberty House of California. She holds a BFA in painting and drawing and has been a designer of her own signature collection of special occasion fashion. She is the author/illustrator of her own E-Book series Drawing Fashion available on lulu.com, and writes illustrated articles for magazines such as Belle Armoire Magazine. Her designs and illustrations have appeared in “Artwear: Fashion & Anti-Fashion,” “Fabric Artistry” by Singer, “Color with Style” by Donna Fujii, and she was curator of “Opulent Splendor” artwear exhibition at Brand Library Art Gallery in 2005. She is a member of The Costume Society of America, and past president of the Wearable Art Connection of Southern California.
