Biography

A pioneer in the field of computer animation, Ken Bielenberg participated in its evolution from broadcast graphics to commercials to music videos to film effects and feature animated films.  He created the role of Visual Effects Supervisor for feature animated films on Shrek, supervising the artists who brought the big green ogre to the screen. His work on Antz and Shrek led to British Academy Award nominations for Special Effects. Following the success of Shrek came Shrek 2 and Shrek 3. More recently, Ken oversaw DreamWorks’ first 3D Stereo feature, Monsters Vs. Aliens, and the feature Puss in Boots. After a stint as a production executive at DreamWorks, he returned to production as the senior Visual Effects Supervisor on The Boss Baby. Ken’s passion for concept art and the incredible experience of working with so many talented ArtCenter alumni during his professional career made coming to ArtCenter a dream come true.
