Biography

Roy Tatum is a Los Angeles based multidisciplinary designer. He’s worked on everything from wearables to websites and apps, to printed matter and brand identities. He’s worked with and for companies like Apple, Nike, The California Science Center, Wove, Target and Sidewalk Labs.

He's currently a Partner at Quarter, a product studio based in New York and Los Angeles that is focused on building software, hardware, brands and ventures for partners exploring new territory in design and technology. He's also Co-Founder and Creative Director at Numbers, a design studio specializing in brand, type design and illustration projects both self-initiated and for a variety of clients, from small startups to established brands.

Prior to Quarter and Numbers, Roy worked at Nike Digital on projects across the product portfolio. He spent the bulk of his time working on a redesign of The Nike App, and designing and launching The Nike App at Retail program.

Roy started his career at IDEO New York, where he worked on product and service design projects. He graduated from ArtCenter with a degree in Graphic Design. His senior project, titled Unbound, examined the relationship between communication technologies, writing, and graphic design. It included pieces ranging from books and print media, to designing and programming interactive environments.
