Biography

Former vice president, executive designer for Walt Disney Imagineering R&D and an influential automobile designer for Honda Research of America, Andy Ogden has been on the ArtCenter College of Design faculty since 1984 and has helped to educate designers who hold leadership positions around the world today. He is an innovation consultant and has, since 2005, designed and led ArtCenter’s world renowned Graduate Industrial Design Program, which consistently places at the top of national rankings. Since 2013, he is also the co-creator and executive director of the Innovation Systems Design (ISD) program which offers a dual MS Industrial Design / MBA degree in partnership with the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate College.

He has a strong record in corporate research and development for new growth opportunities, product and service innovation, award-winning design excellence and innovation management. He has more than 25 years of professional R&D experience and market success in the areas of consumer products, transportation, entertainment, interactive media and education. He is the principle inventor of seven U.S. invention patents for immersive displays, human interface systems, robotics, and motion simulation.

He is a graduate of ArtCenter College of Design, BS Industrial Design, Transportation, awarded with distinction (1983), Executive Management Program, UCLA Anderson School of Management (2003), Architecture and Environmental Design, the University of Texas at Arlington (1977-1980)
