Biography

Youa Vang is a Los Angeles-based artist, designer, author, and educator with more than 25 years of experience in animation, film, video games, publishing, and themed entertainment.

He has worked in background painting, visual development, and concept design for companies including Disney, DreamWorks, Warner Bros., and Hasbro. His work emphasizes visual storytelling, color, atmosphere, and worldbuilding.

Vang is also an award-winning children’s book illustrator and author. His picture book, Worthy: The Capable Life of Joseph Pierce, received two starred reviews and the CALA Best Book Award for Children’s Picture Book.

At ArtCenter College of Design, he teaches painting, design, storytelling, and visual communication, helping students develop strong foundational skills and a distinct artistic voice.
