Alyce was a visionary leader and a passionate champion of art and design across Los Angeles’ cultural landscape and here at ArtCenter College of Design.
Founding president and recent co-president of ArtCenter100, Trustee Emeritus, and a dear friend to ArtCenter, Alyce's contributions to the College over more than four decades are immeasurable. Her steadfast devotion to the students and mission of ArtCenter helped shape the College as we know it today.
When Alyce first joined ArtCenter’s Board of Trustees, she asked then-President David Brown a simple question: How can I best help? The answer was clear: scholarship support. Alyce took that charge to heart. In 1986, she founded ArtCenter100, building a community of dedicated art and design advocates and philanthropists whose collective generosity has provided millions of dollars in scholarship support to countless of students.
Together with her late husband, Warren “Spud” Williamson, also a former trustee and Board Chair, Alyce not only gave generously, but inspired and influenced many millions more in support of the College, demonstrating the powerful ripple effect of her visionary philanthropy and belief in art and design education.
Her impact continues to be felt in the students her generosity uplifts, in the ArtCenter100 community she built, and in the creative spaces across our campus she helped bring to life.
