ArtCenter presents Dorr Bothwell: In Her Mind’s Eye, the first major survey celebrating the extraordinary life and work of California Surrealist artist, designer and educator Dorr Bothwell (1902–2000).
The exhibition features more than 100 works spanning six decades of Bothwell’s artistic practice, including paintings, early drawings, screen prints, ceramics, textiles and selected ephemera. The works also demonstrate her lifelong independence as a creative force.
Bothwell's works reflect a sustained engagement with experimentation, abstraction, and the imaginative possibilities of visual form.
