ArtCenter College of Design Showcases the Next Generation of Automotive Design and Presents Its Annual Design Excellence Awards at Monterey Car Week

PASADENA, CA — ArtCenter College of Design marks its 24th consecutive year participating in Monterey Car Week, taking part in several of the automotive world's premier events, including The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering, Exotics on Broadway and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Through exhibits of student work, recognition of alumni achievements and the presentation of its annual ArtCenter Design Excellence Awards, the College will celebrate its enduring influence on transportation design and automotive innovation. Throughout the week, Transportation Design and Photography students will sketch vehicles, photograph iconic automobiles, meet industry leaders and experience one of the world's premier automotive gatherings as a living classroom.

ArtCenter will exhibit at The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering on Friday, August 14, and at Exotics on Broadway on Saturday, August 15. At The Quail, the College will showcase two quarter-scale concept models created during Honda internships by Transportation Design students Travis Yang and Alexander Wang. The featured projects, Dimension Zero by Yang and F-Zero by Wang, demonstrate the skill and forward-thinking design that define ArtCenter's internationally acclaimed Transportation Design program.

ArtCenter's impact will also be visible throughout Monterey Car Week through the work of its alumni. This year, Transportation Design alumna Delaney Barr (BS 25 Transportation Design) was selected to create the official 2026 event poster for The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering, where it will be officially unveiled at the event and on display in the College’s exhibition.

Also, during Monterey Car Week, ArtCenter will present its annual ArtCenter Design Excellence Awards at both The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, recognizing exceptional automotive design from among the vehicles on display.

Transportation Design students will serve as judges for the ArtCenter Design Excellence Award presented at The Quail, offering a unique student perspective in selecting the vehicle that best exemplifies outstanding automotive design. At the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the award judges will be ArtCenter President Karen Hofmann, Transportation Design Chair Marek Djordjevic and Robert Cameron, son of the late, acclaimed automotive designer, Ian Cameron.

No other institution has had a greater influence on automotive design than ArtCenter College of Design, whose alumni and faculty are responsible for many of today's production vehicles, concept cars and collector automobiles. The College's presence throughout Monterey Car Week reflects its nearly century-long commitment to advancing transportation design through education, industry collaboration and innovation.
