To apply for financial aid, make certain you have completed the following steps.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.gov.
This is the official website; if you use this site you will not be charged a fee.
If you do not have computer access, you may obtain a paper version of the FAFSA by calling 800.4.FEDAID.
Watch this FAFSA tutorial to get started.
New Cal Grant applicants only: Submit a GPA Verification Form to the California Student Aid Commission by March 2.
Forms may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office or at csac.ca.gov and should be certified by the registrar at your current school.
Students must submit federal tax returns if requested. State tax returns are not acceptable.
If you are married, also send copies of your spouse’s returns.
If you are a dependent student, be sure to have your parents send a signed copy of their prior-year income tax return and schedules to Art Center.
If you or your parents are not required to file a tax return, complete the income information on the back of the verification worksheet.
New students applying for scholarships must have completed admissions requirements and filed a FAFSA by the application deadlines; students who miss the priority deadlines will be considered as possible.
Continuing students should attend the scholarship meeting during the fourth week of each term or obtain instructions from the Financial Aid Office.
Make sure you have a current FAFSA on file in the Financial Aid Office.
