Entertainment designers bring stories to life for the entertainment industry through the design of conceptual worlds and creation of memorable characters for animated films.
A successful career in Entertainment Design requires a fertile imagination, an understanding of the technological tools used to invent new realities and the ability to conceptualize within the parameters of a given story. Our alumni work in the fields of animation, video games, theme park design, film and television.
ArtCenter's Entertainment Design curriculum houses two tracks: Concept Design, which focuses on the skills and creative ability required of entertainment industry concept designers; and Animation, which develops students in the disciplines of character animation, storyboarding, modeling, art direction, and lighting for 3D and 2D animation.
Our faculty consists of the industry’s top working professionals including concept designers, animators and supervising animators from Disney, DreamWorks and Blur to name a few. We prepare our students for career opportunities as concept designers, art directors, performance and action animators, modelers, lighting artists, and storyboard artists with companies such as Pixar, Disney, DreamWorks, ILM, Sony, Blur, 343 and Riot.
