ArtCenter students are constantly in a state of motion, but Graduation week is when the College positively buzzes with activity both virtually and on campus. Students put the finishing touches on projects, faculty members issue final critiques and graduates-to-be assemble their virtual senior show.
And we do it three times a year.
Why? Because employers look for new talent year round. It’s part of ArtCenter’s longstanding ties to industry, and is also the reason the College accommodates rolling admissions, allowing most students to enroll in the spring, summer or fall.
These events, hosted by Career and Professional Development, give graduating students the opportunity to network with industry professionals looking to identify talent for current or potential job openings.
Wednesday before Graduation, ArtCenter invites select employers from top companies and studios to participate in live student presentations as the graduates debut their portfolios on Zoom.
Thursday before graduation employers are invited to virtually meet and network with our graduating students in real-time through Zoom and/or auto schedule future interviews.
Graduation Ceremony — At Saturday’s Virtual Graduation Ceremony, educational leaders from the College confer degrees upon our graduating students. In addition to hearing from the Student Leadership Award winner and class Valedictorian, a graduation address is typically offered by a notable artist or designer, a celebrated faculty member or a distinguished alum.
Grad Show — Following the Graduation Ceremony on Saturday afternoon, Grad Show opens once again virtually , providing friends, family and people from across Greater Los Angeles a chance to view the work of our newly minted grads at a more leisurely pace.
