In The Bleeding Edge, Oscar®-nominated filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering (The Invisible War, The Hunting Ground) turn their sights on the $500 billion medical technology industry. Exposing lax regulations, corporate cover-ups and profit driven incentives that put lives at risk daily, the film poses the question: What life-saving technologies may actually be killing us?

A Q&A with the filmmakers will take place immediately following the screening. They'll be joined on a panel with ArtCenter faculty member and noted documentarian Richard Pearce (Food, Inc.; Hearts and Minds) discussing not only the power of documentary filmmaking as a vehicle for social action but also the ethical implications of product design in the medical field.
