L.A. Times Media Center
Hillside Campus
1700 Lida Street
Pasadena, CA 91103

You’re invited to come see Daryl Cagle, America’s most widely syndicated editorial cartoonist – and one of its most prolific – share his work and his experience as owner/founder of CagleCartoons.com. Over half of America's daily newspapers subscribe to CagleCartoons, which syndicates the works of more than sixty top political cartoonists from around the world. Daryl also runs Cagle.com – a free site that offers news, features, and a rich variety of top ’toon talents – and the stock service PoliticalCartoons.com. Daryl worked for 15 years with Jim Henson's Muppets; he designed and invented nearly two thousand toys and licensed products. He was also an editorial and advertising illustrator in New York.

Daryl will provide global perspectives and personal insights into the current state of a profession in which cartoons can start massive riots, spur government censorship, and provoke threats to the lives of cartoonists. Daryl will also talk about the business of political cartoons and – considering the decline of newspapers – the future of the profession.

This event is free and open to the public.

Presented by Michael Dooley’s “Design History of Comics & Animation” class. Follow Comics & Animation Events on Instagram.
