Join ArtCenter College of Design's Photography and Imaging Department and Pasadena Photography Arts for an artist’s talk with award-winning photographer Dan Winters, best known for his celebrity portraiture, photojournalism and illustrations. Enjoy a talk with him about his path to becoming a photographer and the numerous awards he has won along the way, including a 1st place World Press Photo Award and the Alfred Eisenstaedt Award for Magazine Photography.

Appearing in many national and international publications including WIRED, The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair and GQ, Winters has also published four books; Dan Winters’ America: Icons and Ingenuity, Last Launch, Periodical Photographs and more recently, Road to Seeing. He’s had multiple solo gallery exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles and a solo exhibition at the Telfair Museum Jepson Center for Arts in Savannah, Georgia.

During the discussion Winters will share his success with unusual Hollywood portraits of countless A-list actors, from Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio to Helen Mirren, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Garner, Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie. He’s photographed top music artists, George Lucas, Bill Gates, the former President of the United States Barack Obama and has captured extraordinary photographs of Americans in several notable photo series, Texas Gun Owners, the Flint Water Crisis and a fascinating series on Honey Bees.
