From ArtCenter to Adidas: Meet Computational Designer Jacques Perrault
Jacques Perrault (BS 17 Product) discovered his passion for sports design during an ArtCenter DesignStorm whose goal was to develop a better running blade for Paralympic athletes. Perrault’s innovative ideas for that project yielded job offers from corporate partners and ultimately lead to his current position as a designer with Adidas futures team, using 3D printed materials to create the ultimate customized athletic shoes.
Two great companies engaged with ArtCenter to redesign the running blade. That was where I found out about designing for sport and learned these values and processes.
