As Art Center realizes its mission to 'Learn to Create' and 'Influence Change,' the College is poised to lead educational technology in new and innovate ways to transform art and design education. Dedicated to this new focus, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and students in developing educational technology plans, and help articulate a vision for the application of technology in teaching and learning that align with the College’s strategic plan and academic priorities. S/He will bring demonstrated management skills with proven ability to train and influence others in the creative uses of technology in an educational environment, with emphasis in strong leadership, project management, interpersonal, and customer-centric/user-experience skills to effectively manage and implement various educational technology initiatives.
- Provide oversight for educational planning and assessment in the uses and application of educational technology; cultivate and sustain excellent rapport and communications with faculty, chairs, and staff to facilitate curricular innovation, advocate for new ideas, and support the needs of various programs on campus
- Work closely with the Provost, Department Chairs, Library, Media Support, and IT to recommend and direct the development, design, and implementation of a variety of teaching and learning technologies, including, but not limited to, the College’s LMS, lecture capture tools, digital assets, new classroom and alternative delivery technology, and other technology adjuncts to traditional classroom teaching
- In collaboration with the Faculty Development office, build and implement new training initiatives in the uses of instructional and classroom technologies, as well as new and alternate technologies, to support faculty in the proper uses of technology and to assist in achieving academic goals and professional development
- Research and lead development initiatives to identify emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices that are appropriate to the College’s environment; apply research-based practices to design and implement appropriate educational technology solutions to support a variety of programs; continuously review and advance current procedures and practices; advise faculty and staff on new methods to facilitate and improve the learning experience; develop and maintain outreach and training programs for faculty in the use of current and emerging technologies
- Work with College leadership to identify new models of blended and/or low residency programs, and faculty of continuing education courses, to help develop online coursework and programs; facilitate the digitization of curriculum by recommending and providing critical tools and training for those components
- Direct and manage the educational monitoring of active courses in the LMS for quality assurance
- Working with the Provost’s Office, ensure online-based faculty provides a strong, student-focused educational environment through consistent adherence to course rubrics, student competencies, and course pedagogy
