As the College prepares for an ambitious fundraising campaign to realize Create Change: Art Center’s Strategic Plan (2011-2016), it seeks a deep and nuanced understanding of its constituents’ preferences, inclinations and behaviors. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Advancement Services, the Director of Analytics and Prospect Management oversees the key knowledge management functions for Development & External Affairs (D&EA) and manages its reporting systems. S/he is a key member of the Advancement Services team, which works collaboratively with D&EA colleagues in Alumni Relations, Board Relations, Development, and Marketing and Communications in support of Art Center’s fundraising and constituent relations goals.
The Director translates data into actionable information that contributes to strategies and tactics for fundraising and constituent management and helps measure their success. S/he ensures the College’s data systems facilitate a strategic, integrated program of prospect identification and donor management in support of major fundraising campaigns.
The Director’s responsibilities encompass process development and documentation; statistical reporting and analysis; and fundraising, constituent management and systems support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work with the members of the Advancement Services team to enhance the College’s efforts to build enduring relationships with constituents that result in advocacy and support and boost the productivity and efficacy of the Alumni Relations, Board Relations, Community Relations and Development teams
- Partner with the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Advancement Services to evaluate constituent data and reporting needs for D&EA and its partners throughout the College and design, implement and maintain systems to meet them
- Design and implement strategies for gathering, analyzing and applying data, research, and analytics products in conjunction with fundraising efforts
- Utilizing constituent data and predictive modeling tools, identify prospective donors for Development officers to qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward; partner with Development staff to track prospects; regularly review and update prospect assignments
- Develop tools to maintain and visualize a dynamic proposal pipeline that helps predict contributed income; update and, as needed, improve reports that monitor progress to fundraising goals; provide relevant information and analysis to the AVPs for Advancement Services and Development, the Senior VP of Development & External Affairs, and other senior staff as appropriate
- Administer efficient prospect management systems and processes; ensure appropriate protocols are in place; and adhere to legal privacy requirements and ethical standards upheld by regulatory bodies and professional organizations
- In partnership with the AVP for Development, create, track, analyze and optimize performance metrics; tune performance goals to measure actions and behaviors that enhance team productivity and lead to success; provide training to colleagues to help them utilize metrics effectively
- Instruct and educate Development staff and other members of the College in the methodology and resources of prospect management
- Develop and maintain standard reports within Raiser’s Edge and provide guidance to the Advancement Services team in developing highly functional ad-hoc reports; organize, document, and streamline the various reporting methods utilized by Advancement Services
- Utilize constituent and activity data to develop incisive donor and fundraising reports
- Manage user security within the database to ensure staff can access data and their subscribed reports as appropriate
- Partner with IT team to test and implement new programs and upgrade existing software; ensure integrity of constituent data and preservation of custom reports
