PLO 1: Essential Skills & Competencies

Graduates will be able to:

  • Ensure technical proficiency that is aligned with aesthetic and theoretical understanding and fluency in the visual vocabulary of photography:
    • Demonstrate excellence in image-making techniques across analog, digital, still and motion media platforms
    • Able to utilize a variety of technology to achieve specific outcomes within their image-making
    • Able to problem solve in a wide variety of situations - to think on their feet

PLO 2: Technique: Quality of Execution

Graduates will be able to:

  • Become experts in the execution of their craft
  • Combine excellent technical skills with strong conceptual ideation
  • Knowledgeable about methods, materials and techniques
    • Photo-based technical proficiency (darkroom, cameras, lights)
    • Digital Software proficiency (Digital lab, Adobe suite, web, apps)
  • Practice process as a deliberate component of the final photographic image

PLO 3: Conceptual Development and Critical Thinking

Graduates will be able to:

  • Encourage original and individual style through a curriculum based in inquiry, exercise and process:
    • Aware of their own creative potential
