An interdisciplinary designer with work bridging research, experience design, and visual strategy to drive social impact.
Bora currently serves as a Lead Design Strategist at the LA Mayor’s Innovation Team, a Bloomberg Philanthropies funded team that brings new skills to address problems identified by the Mayor. In this role, she leads design research to help City staff leverage design thinking and user-centered practice.
In prior, she served as a Managing Partner at verynice, a social enterprise that dedicates half of its design services as pro-bono for non-profit organizations. In this role, she led creative teams to deliver branding solutions and digital products for studio's clients and implemented practice-based volunteer programs for NGOs/NPOs to leverage design-driven impact.
She has 10+ years of experience in working with a breadth of clients from both public and private sectors such as NASA, UNICEF, 5D Global Studio, City of LA, Welcome.us/FWD.us, and Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.
Bora holds a BFA degree in Graphic Design with a concentration in Environmental Design from Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA degree in Media Design Practices from Art Center College of Design. She continued her MFA thesis work as an Art Center post-graduate fellow and with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Space Grant Graduate Fellow.
