Steven Gavenas

Steve is adjunct professor helping students learn the fundamentals of business strategies, structures and financial results, and the fundamentals of the global economic system. He is a long-time business manager and strategist, as well as a "practicing economist," working with and consulting to Fortune 500 as well as smaller companies and organizations worldwide.

He currently advises media companies with a boutique consulting firm based in Los Angeles. Among previous adventures he was an Associate Principal at the consultancy McKinsey & Company, the first Executive Vice President of Programming at XM Satellite Radio, legislative director for a US Congressperson with responsibility for participation in the Joint Economic Committee with the US Senate, and deputy manager of the US resettlement operation for Indochinese refugees in Thailand.  He holds a BA in economics from UT Austin and an MBA from Cornell.

Steve is also a practicing artist with an MFA from ArtCenter.
