Biography

A cultural historian and curator, Margo Bistis has been teaching at ArtCenter since 2003. She received her doctorate in history from Brown University. Her publications and exhibitions include journal essays on philosophical modernism, caricature and urban culture, and "Comic Art: The Paris Salon in Caricature" organized by the Getty Research Institute in 2004. She is the co-author of The Imaginary 20th Century (ZKM/Center for Art & Media, 2014; 2016). A double object of print novel with essays and an interactive narrativized archive, The Imaginary 20th Century has shown internationally in exhibitions in the U.S., Europe, Mexico and Asia.
