Biography

Dennis McCarthy has worked as a Television and Film composer for the last four decades following nine years on the road as Glen Campbell’s pianist, arranger and conductor. Since those days, he has written music for more than 2,000 television series episodes including over 250 episodes of “Star Trek the Next Generation”, “Star Trek Deep Space Nine”, “Star Trek Voyager” and “Star Trek Enterprise”. 

He also scored multiple episodes of “Ancient Aliens,” “V,” “MacGyver,” “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose,”  “Dawson’s Creek” among others. He won two Emmy Awards during his 18 years of composing music for the Star Trek franchise and composed the music for the series’ feature film, Generations. He was honored with ASCAP’s “Golden Note” award in 2011. He enjoys teaching film scoring at the Art Center of Design in Pasadena while continuing with his scoring career.
