Christina Aumann

Biography

Christina Aumann combines language with typography through antique letterpress printing technologies. She delights in merging analog processes with contemporary design. She views the metal and wood letterforms she works with as miniature sculptures with battle scars from the years they have lived through. These imperfections reveal themselves in the prints, adding a human quality her artwork. 

Aumann received a BA in Studio Arts from University of California, Santa Barbara. Her work has been exhibited at venues including Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Brewery Project, Artworks/Bookarts. She is the recipient of a 2017 Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography Educators Grant.
