Biography

Michelle Katz is a veteran attorney and business specialist working with start ups and mature companies in Intellectual Property, Contracts, Promotions and Licensing Matters. Her capabilities include identifying, structuring and negotiating strategic partnerships; drafting and negotiating contracts; developing and implementing IP Strategy: copyright, trademark, online policies, and business and legal strategic counseling for start ups. She is a faculty member at Art Center College of Design and adjunct professor at California College of the Arts, teaching law for artists and designers, as well as graduate level Business Law and Negotiations in the MBA program at CCA. Prior to starting her own practice in March of 1999, Michelle was Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs Universal Studios New Media Group; Vice President Business and Legal Affairs Universal Studios Consumer Products Group, and Director of Business and Legal Affairs, Paramount Pictures Consumer Products Group & Anti-Piracy Department. Prior to joining the Studios, she was associate counsel at the Writers Guild of America, West.
