How to Register

Registration for Fall 2020 ACX Teens classes begins August 31. You may register and pay for classes up until the first day of class. Classes fill quickly! Sign up early in the registration period in order to secure your spot in class. Our secure online registration is the fastest way to register and pay for classes. Your space in class is not guaranteed until your registration has been processed.

Before You Register

If you have questions about your eligibility or course prerequisites, contact the ACX Teens office via email. You may need to schedule a phone/online meeting or submit samples of your artwork to an ACX advisor

Priority Online Registration

We give priority to students who use ACX Teen’s secure online registration process—the fastest and easiest way to register and pay for ACX Teens courses. To register online you must pay tuition by debit or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express).

During the registration period:

Step 1: Find the course in which you wish to enroll

  • Select “Courses” to see the current term’s offerings
  • If helpful, filter by area of interest to narrow the listings
  • Select your desired course to add it to the Shopping Cart.
  • To sign up for additional courses, repeat this step.

Step 2:
When ready to purchase your courses, select “Cart” in the top menu.

Step 3: Create a temporary account or sign in with your existing account

RETURNING STUDENTS:

  • Scroll past the “Create Account” to the “Returning Students” section
  • Sign in with your existing ArtCenter username and password

NEW STUDENTS:

  • Enter your name and email address, then select “New Account”
  • Fill out your details (only name and date of birth are required)
  • Read and acknowledge you’ve reviewed ACX Teen's Terms and Conditions
  • Create a temporary username and password, and select a security question

Step 4: Enter personal information

Note: Our new system, which we are in the process of refining, requires returning students to reenter this information. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Enter your home address, mailing address (if different) and emergency contact information
  • Other personal data is helpful but not required

Step 5: Enter payment information

  • Confirm your desired course is listed under “Your Curriculum”
  • Enter a discount code, if applicable
  • Read and acknowledge you’ve reviewed ACX Teen’s Terms and Conditions
  • Note: Do NOT select “Save & Exit” at this point. Doing so will leave your registration incomplete and your seat in class will not yet be reserved.
  • Enter your credit or debit card and billing information
  • Review your personal and transaction information
  • Once your payment has been processed, be sure to finalize your registration
  • Let us know about your educational goals at ACX Teens and how you heard about us (optional)

Step 6: Print your registration information (optional)

Step 7: Check your email inbox for messages from ArtCenter

  • You should receive two emails: an enrollment confirmation; and a payment receipt. You may also receive separate emails for each course you register in.
  • New Students only: Within five minutes, you should also receive an email from colladmin@artcenter.edu containing your new ArtCenter account information (please check your spam/junk folders and add colladmin@artcenter.edu to your address book).
  • Make special note of this ArtCenter username and password as you will need it to access your class materials, log-in to your class session (for all online courses), review your course schedule, check your grades, view an unofficial transcript, and register for classes in the future.
  • If you have any questions regarding your registration, email us or call 626 396-2319.

If you have any questions regarding your registration, contact the ACX Teens office at 626 396-2319 or teens@artcenter.edu.

Registration by Email

While we recommend students use our secure online registration process as the fastest way to register and pay for ACX Teens courses, you can also register via email. To do so, send your completed registration form (including debit or credit card information) to teens@artcenter.edu.

Your space in class is not guaranteed until your registration has been received and successfully processed.

It is your responsibility to follow up with the ACX Teens office to ensure that we receive your email and that your registration form is legible.

Students who register by email will receive a registration confirmation letter by email. New students will receive an ArtCenter username and password. Save this information as you will need it to check your course schedule, access your class materials, log-in to your class session (for all online courses), check your grades, obtain an unofficial transcript and register for classes in the future.

In-person Registration and Registration by Mail

Please note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ArtCenter Extension office is not currently open. However, our team is working remotely and available should you have any questions about registering by email or using our online registration process (see details above.)

Important Dates to Remember

Registration forms and course tuition must be received by the Friday preceding the start of the term.  Your early registration reserves your seat in a class and helps ensure your course selections meet required enrollment levels.

Courses without the required minimum enrollment, as determined by the program director, will be cancelled one to three days before the first class meeting. Students enrolled in a cancelled course will be notified by an ACX staff member.

Your space in class is not guaranteed until your registration has been received and processed. We highly recommend using our secure online registration process as the fastest way to register and pay for ACX Teens courses. Online registration forms are accepted seven days a week.

Be sure to check our Calendar for important course registration dates.

Late Registration

Late registration forms will be accepted the first week of the term for courses with available seats. Forms can be submitted online, in person at the ACX office, or by fax with credit card payment. Download forms here.

A $20 fee will be changed for the first returned check. Additional fees will be charged for any subsequent returned checks.

International Students

International students whose native language is one other than English must score at least 173 on the computer-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or 61 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) before registering for ACX studio art courses. A score of 213 (CBT) or 80 (iBT) is required for Humanities and Sciences courses. A copy of your score report should accompany your registration form.

Students with visas such as B-1 or B-2 should be aware that their immigration status may be in jeopardy. The ACX program is not authorized to issue I-20s, nor are we able to advise students on any visa issues.
