Directing for Film
How do you tell an amazing story? Through screenings and in-class exercises, you will learn how to control cinematic elements to best tell your stories. We will focus on using camera movement, lighting, actors, props, costumes, sound and locations to create meaning and to communicate with the audience. Working within groups, you will write, direct and edit a short narrative film. You must have access to a digital video camera. Editing equipment is not mandatory, but access to a Mac or PC with digital video editing capability is helpful. Prerequisite: Film is recommended. Estimated cost of materials: $40
