eMotive is an interaction system for self-driving cars. Studies show that users do not trust these vehicles yet, in part because they don’t understand if the car shares their goals. A card-sorting exercise asked people to sort what information they would want a car to communicate, while a full-scale prototype invited them to place designed graphics where they wanted the information to be, and was developed into a final design proposal.
