Biography

Jesse Kriss has been building weird things on the internet since 1997. Kriss' expertise and training is in full stack web development, human-computer interaction, and information visualization, with a subsequent focus on humane, user-respecting, and small scale technology. Kriss believes scale, growth, and the status quo are all very much worth questioning, and that human systems and practices outlive technical implementations. Kriss' work in software design and implementation has taken him to IBM Research, Figure 53, the Obama 2012 tech team, NASA/JPL, and Netflix. Now, Kriss focuses less on bits and pixels and more on people and practices. Kriss tries to help groups of people to do the right things for the right reasons, which is probably even harder than it sounds. Kriss lives with his family in San Francisco.
