The outcome of the election will be determined by a simple majority of the votes that are cast. We urge you to cast your ballot so that a true majority of all faculty eligible to vote makes the decision on whether to be represented by the union or not.

Important Dates


  • May 27: The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) mails ballots and voting instructions to all ArtCenter faculty
  • June 6: If you did not receive your voting materials, contact the NLRB for duplicate materials at 310 235-7352 or 844 762-6572.
  • June 10: We suggest you mail your ballot by this date to ensure it is received by the deadline
  • June 17: NLRB must receive your ballot by 5 p.m. on June 17 for it to be counted
  • June 21: NLRB will begin the vote tally at 2 p.m.

Instructions for Completing and Submitting Your Ballot.

  1. Mark your ballot in secret by placing an “X” in the appropriate box.
  2. Do not sign or write your name or include other markings that would reveal your identity. If you submit a ballot with markings inside, or anywhere around, more than one square, your ballot will not be counted. You may request a new ballot by calling the NLRB regional office at 310 235-7352.
  3. Do not show your ballot to anyone after you have marked it.
  4. Put your ballot in the blue envelope and seal the envelope.
  5. Put the blue envelope containing the ballot into the yellow addressed return envelope.
  6. Sign the back of the yellow return envelope in the space provided. For your ballot to be counted, the yellow return envelope must be signed.
  7. Do not permit any party—ArtCenter, the union, their representatives or a faculty-petitioner—to handle, collect or mail your ballot.
  8. Mail the ballot immediately. No postage is necessary.

TO BE COUNTED, YOUR BALLOT MUST REACH THE NLRB BY 5 PM, FRIDAY, JUNE 17, 2022.

If you did not receive a ballot in the mail by Monday, June 6, 2022, immediately contact the NLRB by either calling the Region 31 Office at 310 235-7352 or the national toll-free line at 844 762-NLRB (844 762-6572).
