Environmental Designer

John Wheeler currently works as special assistant to world-renowned architect and designer William McDonough in Charlottesville, VA. Prior to working with McDonough, Wheeler worked as a designer for William McDonough + Partners Architecture and Community Design, a design firm practicing ecologically, socially and economically intelligent architecture in the U.S. and abroad. In 2006, Wheeler graduated from Art Center College of Design, where he co-founded EcoCouncil, a student organization focused on sustainability issues. Prior to attending Art Center, Wheeler worked in New York as an investment banker performing financial crisis management and restructuring. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 2000, where he earned a BS in both Economics and Philosophy.
