S.M. Shahed has worked for 40 years in developing emissions control technology for diesel and gasoline engines. As a corporate fellow at Honeywell Turbo Technologies, a business unit of Honeywell International, Shahed serves in a technical leadership and advisory position dealing with advanced technology strategy. His work at Honeywell involves developing and applying advanced boosting technology to reduce emissions and to improve fuel economy of gasoline and diesel engines for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and equipment. His publications in the field of emissions control technology have received several prestigious international awards, including the Institution of Mechanical Engineer’s James Clayton Award, the Society of Automotive Engineer’s (SAE) Harry L. Horning Memorial Award and the SAE’s Arch T. Colwell Merit Award. He is a fellow of SAE, ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and IAE (Institute for the Advancement of Engineering). He was awarded the Distinguished Service Citation of the University of Wisconsin.
