Unseen Immersions

by Team Unseen Immersions

Team Members: Gen Hur (Interaction Design); Sean Wang (Interaction Design), Kyuta Sato (Graphic Design), Nish Gupta (Product Design)

Users will find themselves in a dark expanse underneath a starlit sky, surrounded by floating drums and spawning discs. As users bang on these drums, the spawning discs generate everyday sounds in the form of glowing, tessellated shapes. Users interact with these shapes by hitting them and create new connections and sensations in the process.

The resulting consonance of light, shadow, color, and sound represents the ways in which commonplace sounds compose our everyday realities and presents our users with a question: What are the implications for everyday immersions when we attribute greater significance to banal, overlooked sensations?
