The Play Studio is a project that focused on researching how people play and creating an environment that instigates play. The opportunity found in LA metro bus stations is a chance to provide users with delight. The goal is to provide users with an experience similar to a field trip: a point where they get to discover something new, explore it and get lost in a moment of play.
If successful, the hope is to make the transfer from one location to another as pleasant as possible, so people can better enjoy their destination once they arrive. A frustrating commute often puts unnecessary stress on travelers, which carries over into the rest of their day. If the trip were to be made more enjoyable through play, commuters would be happier overall.
