OPERATIO is an event-creating system specifically designed for Art Center’s Sinclair Pavilion. A pavilion is a space with endless capabilities, but without an event-planning guide, the Sinclair Pavilion has remained a mysterious location for students on campus. OPERATIO (which means operation and activity) is a tool for students to conduct their own activities at the pavilion. As users create events on the screen, the system automatically manages the space, including determining the event’s facilities and lighting needs. When finished, the system sends the event planner an email so that they can then invite guests to their event.
