Sean Adams is a full-time faculty member at Art Center College of Design. He was a founding partner at AdamsMorioka in Los Angeles. He has served AIGA as the only two term AIGA national president in the organization’s 100 year history, as a national board member, and AIGA Los Angeles president.

In 2014, Adams was awarded the AIGA Medal, the highest honor in the profession. He is an AIGA Fellow, and Fellow of the International Design Conference at Aspen. Adams is an author of  multiple magazine columns and several best-selling books. He has been cited as one of the forty most important people shaping design internationally in the ID40, and one of the top ten most influential designers working today by GDUSA.

His blog, burningsettlerscabin, is regularly listed one of the ten best design blogs in the United States. Adams is an on-screen author with courses on design, branding, and design history for Adams’ clients have included The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Adobe, Gap, The Metropolitan Opera, Frank Gehry Associates, Richard Meier Associates, Nickelodeon, USC, Sundance and Disney.

Brad Bartlett is a designer, artist and educator. He earned his Masters Degree in Design from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1998, graduating with the highest honors. He also holds a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design from North Carolina State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. His graduate work at Cranbrook, exploring the relationship of media and culture, was presented at MIT and Fabrica of Benetton in Italy.

He has been an educator at Art Center College of Design since 1999 and was awarded Great Teacher in 2003 and again in 2014, delivering the commencement address to the summer graduating class. Brad is also the Director of Transmedia in the Graphic Design Department at Art Center, where he has worked to implement transmedia pedagogy and has overseen the development of transmedia courses.

The work of his Los Angeles-based design studio has won numerous awards and has been widely published. His work was awarded the Frances Smyth-Ravenel Grand Prize for Excellence in Design by the American Alliance of Museums in 2012 and again in 2015 for the Altered Landscape: Photographs of a Changing Environment and Late Harvest.

Nik is an international award-winning artist, designer, and educational leader. As the Graphic Design Department Chair at Art Center College of Design, leading a faculty of over 50 professional designers and 300 students, Nik has created a new curriculum, fusing print and packaging, motion and interaction design into Transmedia Design. As the Executive Director of Art Center’s Berlin Satellite Program, he prototypes new learning models in Europe’s thriving metropolis. His Los Angeles based artist platform Ueberall International ( conceives and produces data-driven art installations converging digital media and spatial experiences. His artist team produced the data-driven sculptures eCLOUD for San Jose International Airport and AirFIELD for Atlanta International Airport and is currently working on high profile art projects in San Diego and Seattle. As former principal and chief creative officer of Triad Berlin he and his two partners formed one of Germany’s leading design firms. His team created pavilions for the World Expo2000 and for the Swiss Expo02.

Gerardo Herrera earned his B.F.A. degree in 1991 with Honors in Graphic Communication and Packaging design from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California.

In 1996, Gerardo was recruited by Nokia to build and head The Brand Experience Design Teams in the US, UK, China, & Finland. The team provided strategic insight and advanced design for Nokia’s global brand, Vertu Brand, Nokia’s N-Gage Sub-brand, product development, user interface and experience design creation. As Global Director of this strategic design team, they set the vision of Nokia’s future as well as set up the foundation to integrate purpose and process with all the disciplines inside and outside of Nokia Design.

Recently, Gerardo has co-developed, designed, manufactured and launched the premium pet lifestyle company {yep yup}, whose mission is dedicated to merging pet tech and their people lifestyles. He is also an associate at Design Studio Nuovo, with founder Frank Nuovo, former chief of design for Nokia and founder/creator of Vertu. Design Studio Nuovo is an incubator for developing compelling ideas, design solutions and innovative technology systems for commercially viable products and services with global brands and new ventures.

In addition to leading {yep yup}, Datzing – a micro location software platform and Head of Brand Experience for DSN, Gerardo is also the Director of Packaging for Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Gloria Kondrup

Gloria‘s career spans both design and fine art practices. As a design consultant to national and international firms, she has contributed to, and helped evolve, extensive branding, identity and packaging systems. Clients benefiting from her expertise include Aon, Avon and Goodwill Industries. As the owner of a letterpress and fine stationery company, she has developed more than 100 custom stationery and gift items sold online, through direct mail and in national retail chains. A dedicated design educator for more than two decades teaching typography and visual problem solving, she works to redefine the value of typography and analog technology in the digital landscape.Her fine art printworks and fine art press books are in private and public collections including AIGA, the Getty Research Institute, UCLA’s William Andrews Clark Memorial Library and The Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry. In recognition of her interest in social, cultural and environmental issues, she received the AIGA Greening of Design award. She earned her BA in fine art from CUNY at Brooklyn College, New York, and her MFA from Art Center. Matthew Manos is an artist, strategist, and author interested in experimental economies, “business as a medium,” conditional systems for creative inquiry, and new methods for writing restriction in poetry and fiction. He is the Founder and Managing Partner/Global Strategy Lead at verynice, a design, strategy, and foresight consultancy that gives half of its work away for free to non-profit organizations. As of 2015, verynice has been able to gift over $2,500,000 worth of pro-bono design and consulting services across 45 countries to benefit hundreds of organizations thanks largely to a volunteer staff of 350 practitioners. Notable clients of verynice have included UNICEF, NASA, MTV Networks, Google, Kaiser Permanente, and Disney Imagineering. Eric Parren (NL / US) is an interdisciplinary artist operating out of Los Angeles. His work lives at the intersection of art, science, and technology and investigates the human connection to ideas and technologies that shape our future, such as artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, and space exploration. The works are often deeply sensory experiences dealing with modes of perception and the physics of light and sound. Through close study of the histories of media arts, composition, and film, Eric’s work makes connections between the past, the present, and what is to come. Eric is a member of the art collective Macular and the founder and co-host of La Force Sauvage Radio.

Eric studied at the Interfaculty ArtScience of the Royal Academy of Art and Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he received his BFA in 2009. He went on to study at the Design Media Arts department of the University of California Los Angeles, where he was awarded his MFA in 2012. He has been exhibiting internationally since 2008.

She is an avid traveler and visual translator. It’s not unusual to find her 85 feet underwater, climbing a steep and rocky slope, or twisting her body like a pretzel in a yoga class.
