The president and creative director of Douglas Joseph Partners in Santa Barbara, Doug Joseph began his career in 1981 at the highly respected firm of Robert Miles Runyan and Associates. In 1986 he co-founded Besser Joseph Partners, a design firm specializing in financial and corporate communications which went on to garner national recognition. DJP, which he founded in 1996, focuses on branding and consumer-based marketing with an emphasis on luxury hospitality. DJP develops restaurant concepts such as naming, identity and marketing for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in North America and Europe; Joseph also designs Four Seasons’ comprehensive guest collateral programs tied to interior space renovations or properties in development. Other DJP clients include: Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, Fraser Papers, Smart Papers, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Univision Communications. The recipient of dozens of design awards, Joseph also teaches typography and communications at ArtCenter.
