Jennava Laska

Jennava is a Master's degree student at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Age 22, from Nashville, Tennessee, she now resides in Los Angeles, California. She earned her Bachelor's degree, with honors, from Art Center College of Design in 2006 and is an alumni of North Carolina School of the Arts, Visual Arts High School, Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Jennava has received several awards for her filmmaking including Telly, Summit and Addy Awards. She has also received honors from several film festivals including Official Selection at the Newport Beach Film Festival and Official Nomination at the San Fernando Valley Film Festival.

Scholastically, Jennava is a College Women's Club of Pasadena fellowship recipient and Francis D. Lyon - Phi Delta Theta fellowship recipient.

She is the creator and director of the Student Filmmakers Guild, the best resource for film, video, cinema and media students worldwide. Jennava has worked for clients ranging from the American Red Cross, Documentary Channel, National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, United Nations and now, the French Government Tourist Office.

She is a member of the University Film and Video Association, The Association for Women in Communications, and a student member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

In the past three years, Jennava has directed dozens of projects on 35mm, 16mm, Super8 and HD. She has produced over twenty award winning commercials and three short films. She has experience as a production designer on over twenty film projects, and as assistant director experience on over fifteen projects. She is currently in post production on three commercials, in pre-production on four commercials and is finishing up her fifth feature film script.

She will graduate in 2008 and will pursue a career in Los Angeles as a film director.
